Exams-Plan

  • The preparations have to be carried out at a regular pace over a long period.
  • Firstly get the examination schedule.
  • Get the syllabus and prescribed study material for each subject.
  • Take guidance from experienced professors or teachers on the answering techniques .
  • Calculate the time available for preparation.
  • Set aside a fixed number of hours for studies each day.
  • Go over the prescribed study material for each subject in 2-3 cycles including the final revision.
  • Distribute the total time available for preparations for each of the study cycle.
  • Within each study cycle divide the time between the various subjects depending upon your strengths and weaknesses.
  • Go over the study material deliberately, read and recall sections or chapters, make short notes, note down separately the parts which you do not understand or mark them.
  • During each cycle attempt sample question papers in a timed fashion.
  • During the revision cycle, you have to allot study time for each subject in reverse order, last test first and first paper last. Also, during this time retouch and refresh what you have studied before do not try to learn new topics.Also, dwell on the marked portions.
  • Your routine before the exams should be such that your body and mind are fresh and peak during the time slot you would be writing your exams.

Exam-Preparing for the final day

  • Think positive and be confident.
  • Eat light but high energy food before the exam.
  • Your dress should be comfortable and should add to your confidence.
  • Select your writing material carefully.
  • Ensure you carry adequate material required to take the examination.
  • Reach the examination centre well in time.
  • Ensure you reach fresh to take the exam.
  • Avoid rumours and distractions.
  • After reaching sit quietly, do deep breathing and calm your mind.

Taking the Exams

  • Read the instructions carefully, before you start attempting the question paper.
  • If the question paper has choices then choose and tick the questions you will attempt.
  • Make a time plan based on marks for attempting each question and keep some time for revision and tying up your answer sheets.
  • Read the questions carefully, be sure what is being asked before you attempt to answer it.
  • Organise your thoughts. Logically breakdown the answer in different parts and points and then write.
  • Ensure your answer is concise and to the point, make diagrams and sketches where required.
  • If you are not sure about the answer to a particular question, leave adequate space for it and attempt it in the end.
  • Ensure you finish answering all questions in the allotted time.
  • If you have used multiple sheets ensure they are stapled and you write your particulars at the appropriate place.
